What is an Emirates ID?
The Emirates ID is a mandatory identity card for all UAE citizens and residents, and it is issued by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) in the UAE. The card contains personal information such as name, photo, date of birth, and residency status, and it is used for a wide range of purposes including accessing government services and opening bank accounts.
What are the steps of getting the Emirates ID?
In order to process your Emirates ID, you will need to undergo medical fitness test and biometric scanning. You can apply for a new Emirates ID card online through the website of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) or in person at one of the accredited typing centres located throughout the UAE, and you might need to visit one of ICP’s service centres to provide your biometric details. However, if you have your visa issued by SPC Free Zone by choosing our VIP services, the cost of the Emirates ID is included.

Renewal of Emirates ID
The time limit to renew an expired ID card is 30 days from its expiry date. After this period, late fines will be imposed. It's important to note that once an Emirates ID is expired, the holder must apply for its renewal. SPC Free Zone offers assistance with Emirates ID renewal.
Cancellation of Emirates ID
In the United Arab Emirates, cancelling your Emirates ID is linked to cancelling your residency visa. If you’re a resident leaving the country or changing jobs, you’ll hand your ID card to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
They will then forward it to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), the agency that originally issued it.
Why Choose SPCFZ for VIP Services?
At the SPC Free Zone, we offer you unique VIP services to assist in obtaining your Emirates ID card and completing your mandatory medical test. The service includes all the necessary paperwork, pick up and drop from biometrics and medical centres.
